” Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young.”

Keep learning.

Hydrography is constantly evolving. New technologies emerge, workflows improve, and every project teaches us something new. I believe that continuous learning and sharing knowledge are essential for both personal growth and the future of our profession. That is why I am developing a series of online knowledge-sharing events and evening sessions for the hydrographic community. The goal is simple: to create an informal environment where professionals can learn from each other, exchange experiences, and explore new ideas. The sessions will typically last up to three hours and focus on a single topic, challenge, or practical workflow within hydrography. Depending on the subject, the format may include:

✓ Show & Tell demonstrations
✓ Hands-on software exercises
✓ Interactive workshops and discussions
✓ Technical lectures with demonstrations and videos
✓ Click-along training sessions

The topics will be driven by the community. If there is a subject you would like to learn more about, I would love to hear your suggestions. Simply get in touch through the contact form and let me know what interests you. When sufficient interest exists, a session will be scheduled and shared with the community. All events will be hosted online, allowing participants from anywhere in the world to join from the comfort of their own home or office. All you need is a good internet connection, and perhaps your favorite cup of coffee or a bowl of crisps!

Although I will host and facilitate the sessions, I certainly do not claim to know everything. When a topic falls outside my own expertise, I will invite specialists from the hydrographic community to share their knowledge and experience. In this way, the platform becomes a place where professionals can both learn and contribute. The aim is not only to transfer knowledge, but also to inspire curiosity, encourage discussion, and strengthen the hydrographic community through collaboration. Whether you are a student, an experienced surveyor, a data processor, a project manager, or an industry specialist, you are warmly invited to join. And if you have expertise you would like to share with others, I would be delighted to hear from you. Together we can continue building a stronger, more connected hydrographic community. Short learning Sessions.

Hydrographic learning for every level of experience.

Are you an experienced hydrographic professional looking to deepen or broaden your knowledge? Do you work with hydrographic data or survey results and want to better understand what they mean? Or are you new to hydrography and curious to discover how hydrographic surveying works? Short Learning Sessions are compact online sessions designed around specific hydrographic topics and practical applications. Rather than spending a full day in training, you learn in focused blocks of two or three hours. This gives you time to absorb what you have learned, apply it in practice and return for the next session with new questions and experiences.

Choose how you want to learn.

Learning Sessions can be delivered in different formats, depending on the topic, participants and learning needs.

Online Learning
Join focused, interactive sessions from wherever you are. Sessions are delivered in short learning blocks, making them easy to combine with your working day.

Group-funded Learning
Learn together and share the cost. Join other professionals interested in the same topic, with the cost shared between participants.

VIP Learning
Private learning for you or your team. VIP Learning Sessions offer dedicated time and, where appropriate, can focus on your own questions, workflows, software or datasets.

Onsite Learning
Bring the Learning Session to your organisation or project team. Onsite sessions provide more opportunity for interaction, practical discussion and learning within your own working environment.
